In the midst of the brown and dark ochre fields, with a gray and white clouds backdrop, white flowers appeared. Perky chocolate branches are holding them proudly, telling me, almost whispering, that spring is coming, that it is actually almost there. This wild cherry suddenly makes the view so much softer. Forest walks make my lungs heavy with a new mix of oxygen, and I feel a slight pain in my chest. Robin, the friendliest of birds I heard, is still hiding from our two shadows. Little white dog and I are walking slowly, feeling the new season coming as the lake in the distance is still the color of steel gray.
“At this time of the year, cormorants come close to the lake shore,” a young photographer with a huge camera tells me while Birdie, the little white dog, is standing close to my leg suspicious of two giant Canadian geese sailing our way.
