First couple of weeks, I found it hard to wake up while it was still dark outside. It felt like I was disturbing the silence, and my body was heavy like the clouds in the murky sky in front of me. Trees lost their wonderful golden hue and stood still, becoming dark gray. They looked as silent and as asleep as myself.
All of a sudden, in the depth of this late autumn feeling, I went back to an old ritual of lighting the candle while preparing my morning lemonade, oats, and coffee. Candlelight looks surreal, contrasting with the darkness behind it, casting a warming glow in the kitchen. I sit in the living room to eat my breakfast and watch candle doing aerobics from the distance. The combination of fresh air from the window and the warmth from the radiator makes it joyfully tremble. Like it’s dancing! I smile while blueberries burst in my mouth. Roasted sesame seeds sprinkled on top of my oats have the same warm hue as the candle, I think.
