It turns out that blocking time for filming videos adds a lot of fun to the whole process. Lately, I’ve been working on many custom-made maps — for private clients as well as a couple of brands — but I’m trying to keep my word and share a video on creativity every month.
On Wednesday morning, I sat down and filmed a video on how I make my sketchbooks and notebooks. These are important vessels for my creative process — and they’re fun to make. I don’t do this all the time, as buying a new notebook brings me a great amount of pleasure. BUT when it comes to sketchbooks, choosing the right painting or drawing paper and binding it myself gives me the perfect surface for my art experiments.
When it comes to the notebooks I write in, I often create them from leftover paper — the last pages of notebooks that are almost full. I find them in old agendas or in notebooks I’m emotionally done with, the ones I want to date, label on the spine, and put away on my notebook shelf.
